LEADERSHIP HAS STARTED RAISING AWARENESS AND PLANNING NATIONAL HISPANIC MONTH.

STUDENTS ARE PREPARING FOR THE END OF THEIR FIRST QUARTER AND FINALS. THE SPANISH FOR NATIVE SPEAKER CLASSES PERFORM VARIOUS DANCES DURING LUNCH AND CLASSES ARE INCORPORATING LESSONS FROM HIS PANIS HERITAGE MONTH INTO THEIR LESSONS.

L.G.A.WILL HAVE ATTENDANCE CAMPAIGNS EVERY QUARTER THIS YEAR AND THEY'VE JUMPED IN ONE MINUTE WARNING MUSIC, BUILDING ON THE QUESTION ASKED AT PRE-SERVICE, DO YOUR LESSONS LOVE YOUR STUDENTS? BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT WAS WELL ATTENDED. STAFF REPORTED MORE PARENTS IN THE ROOMS ALSO THE SHOW CASE HOSTED ON CAMPUS THIS YEAR. IT'S OPENING THE DOOR IN EQUITY TO SPORTS FOR SO MANY KIDS, I'VE BEEN GOING ATTENDING WATCHING THAT. IT'S SOMETHING WE DID A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY AND I'M PROUD OF THAT AND HOPE WE CAN CONTINUE THAT. LITTLE STATISTICS, JOEY'S FOOD LOCKER WE'VE BEEN GATHERING INFORMATION IN APPROXIMATELY ON AVERAGE OVER 80% OF THE FAMILIES THAT COME THROUGH JOEYS FOOD LOCKER ARE FROM OUR ZIP CODES SO WE ARE REALLY MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY AND THIS FRIDAY I LOOK FORWARD TO CELEBRATING HISPANIC HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH AT BAN NON-CREEK.

I CAN'T BELIEVE NEXT MONTH IS THE CELEBRATION FOR LEROY GREEN ACADEMY, 10 YEARS IN EXISTENCE. SO IT REALLY IS A, AMAZING HOW FAST TIME FLIES. THEN I THINK IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT AS WE HAVE THE DISCUSSION TODAY ABOUT STUDENT SAFETY AND WHAT WE'RE DOING IN LIGHT OF AGAIN UNFORTUNATELY A SHOOT BE HAPPENED ON AN OAKLAND CAMPUS TODAY. THIS IS THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A LOCK DOOR POLICY.

ONE OF THE THINGS THEY DID CONCUR WAS THAT INCONSISTENT SCHOOL POLICIES ARE, CONSISTENT PRACTICES WITHIN A SCHOOL DISTRICT IS A DETRIMENT TO A SCHOOL DISTRICT. SO EITHER YOU ARE GOING TO SAY THE DOORS ARE GOING TO REMAIN LOCKED OR THERE IS GOING TO BE, YOU KNOW, THERE ARE OTHER PARAMETERS BUT THEY DID CAUTIOUS ABOUT THAT. THIS WAS QUITE AN AN EXTENSIVE DISCUSSION FOR ABOUT 60 MINUTES WITH THEM, WITH A PANEL OF 5 EXPERTS. SO I DON'T HAVE AN OPINION AT THE MOMENT ABOUT WHAT IS THE BEST APPROACH. WE DID SOME RESEARCH AND ESTIMATE OF HOW MANY CLASSROOMS BECAUSE WE HAVE MANY IN OUR SCHOOLS BUILT BEFORE 2011. MANY, AFTER, THOSE AFTER HAVE THE LOCKS ON THE INSIDE. WE'VE ORES THAT DON'T. WE ESTIMATE WE'VE ABOUT 700 CLASSROOM DOORS THAT DON'T HAVE THOSE LOCKS ON THE INSIDE. SO THE GOAL IN A ONE GATE OR A LIMITED GATE ENTRY IS THAT YOU HAVE MORE MONITORING OF PEOPLE COMING INTO THE CAMPUS.

SO THERE ARE STAFF AVAILABLE THAT ARE GOING TO BE THERE WELCOMING STUDENTS AND FAMILIES AS THEY COME TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY. SOME OF THE CONSIDERATIONS IS THAT WE DO HAVE MULTIPLE FAMILY, MANY FAMILIES THAT COME IN FROM DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS BASED ON THE WAY THE SCHOOL IS SET UP AROUND PARKS OR BIKE TRAILS OR WALKING PATHWAYS. IN TERMS OF THE PROCESS BASICALLY WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE BELL RINGS, OUR GATES ARE CLOSED AND LOCKED AND EVERYONE WILL THEN GO THROUGH THE OFFICE TO GO ON TO THE CAMPUS INSURANCE IS WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL AND END OF SCHOOL IN TERMS OF THIS SYSTEM.

ESTIMATING COST IT'S PAYING FOR SIGNAGE BUT WE WOULD HAVE TO CONSIDER THE CHANGE OF CULTURE.
