AGAIN. AFTER REREADING THIS, IT MADE A LITTLE MORE SENSE. I AM JUST SO GRATEFUL FOR THE, THOSE OF YOU WHO COORDINATE AND ARE INVOLVED IN THE OUTREACH TO THE COMMUNITY AND PARENTS. WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE DOCUMENTS HERE, AND YOU LOOK AT THE TABLES IN TERMS OF THE WAYS WE ENGAGE THE PUBLIC, LOOKING AT THE SURVEYS, THE 200 COUNT THEN 1,000 COUNT PER SURVEY THEN BACK TO THE 200 COUNT, THE NARRATIVE MAKES SENSE. WE WERE OVER SURVEYED PEOPLE.

ANYWAY WHEN I LOOKED AT THE NUMBERS, I AM SO APPRECIATIVE OF THE GREAT WORK IN TERMS OF WHAT THIS MEANS.

BEFORE THIS GETS MOVED, JUST A QUICK COMMENTARY.

WE ARE REPRESENTATIVES AND GOTTEN CALLS FROM PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR ITEM.

I WAS DISAPPOINTED. I WAS HOPING THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IS IMPORTANT THAT COULD BE RESOLVED BY BOTH PARTIES.

THEY COULD NOT GET IT RATIFIED TWICE.

ANYONE WHO KNOWS ME KNOWS I KEEP IT REAL.

ONE OF THE CONCERNS I GOT WAS LAUNDRY.

WE LIVE IN A CLIMATE WHERE SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT.

TO HEAR COMMENTARY ABOUT LAUNDRY IS DISHEARTENING.

I APPROVE -- I'M JUST NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW THIS CAN'T BE DONE. THERE HAS BEEN A COUPLE OF OVERTURES BY THE DISTRICT TO MAKE THIS MOVE THERE.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT HAPPEN. WITH THAT SAID I THINK THIS NEW JOB DESCRIPTION, I THINK IT IS WHAT WE NEED IN OUR SCHOOLS AND PROVIDES THE BALANCE BETWEEN ACCOUNTABILITY AND SUPPORT AND ALSO WANT US TO BE RESPONSIBLE WITHOUT MONEY BUT SAFETY IS NUMBER ONE. THAT IS WHAT WE ARE SEEN EVERYWHERE. IT IS PARAMOUNT.

IT IS THE FEEDBACK I GET. I KNOW YOU GET THE SAME FEEDBACK BECAUSE WE VISIT THE CAMPUS IS. AND LOOK, WE HAVE SOME REAL BEHAVIORAL ISSUES AT THE SAME TIME.

PEOPLE WANT TO FEEL SAFE. WE ARE THE FIRST TO SHARE EVERYTHING. VERY TRANSPARENT DISTRICT THERE CAP TO SAY OBSCENE EXPULSIONS AND I THINK IT IS PRETTY AGREEABLE WHERE KID SHOULD BE EXPELLED WE CAN'T TOLERATE CERTAIN BEHAVIORS. THIS ITEM WHILE THAT IS SEPARATE FROM THE COMMENTS IT IS ANOTHER ACTION BY THE BOARD AND TO ALLOW STAFF TO HAVE JOBS THAT INCREASE SAFETY IN OUR DISTRICT.

HAVE BEEN HERE FOR A LITTLE BIT. I'VE BEEN AROUND THE BLOCK A FEW TIMES AND I THINK THIS BOARD HAS CONSISTENTLY SHOWN THAT WE ARE ABOUT SAFETY AND HAVE CONSISTENTLY VOTED TO EXPAND OUR SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL PROGRAMS AND OTHER SAFETY, THAT IS ANOTHER CONVERSATION WE ARE ALL WILLING TO HAVE IT ANY TIME.

I THINK THIS IS ANOTHER STEP FORWARD IN MY VOTE WILL REPRESENT WHAT I FEEL ABOUT THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

THE SUPERINTENDENT AS AND FOR ME THE CREATION OF A NEW OFFICE OF SAFETY IN SCHOOLS AND THE CURRENT SUPERINTENDENT RICK, WILL LEAD AND I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING THE DETAILS ON THAT.

I THINK THIS JOB DESCRIPTION IS ANOTHER STEP IN THAT DIRECTION.

WITH THAT I WILL MOVE TO APPROVAL AND OPEN THE FLOOR FOR

COMMENTS. >> I JUST WANT TO CONCUR WITH YOUR STATEMENTS TRUSTEE GRANT. BUT I ALSO WANT TO APPLAUD THE DISTRICT AND LOOKING AT HOW WE ARE CREATING A NEW POSITION BECAUSE IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT SAFETY BUT ABOUT CLIMATE.

IT IS ABOUT KNOWING THAT OUR CAMPUS SAFETY SPECIALISTS ARE ON THE FRONT LINE WITH MOST STUDENTS AND THEY HAVE A LOT OF THAT CONTACT. IT IS ABOUT MENTORSHIP AND RELATIONSHIPS. WE ALL KNOW RELATIONSHIPS WHEN KIDS FEEL CONNECTED TO SCHOOL, THEY ARE MORE APT TO HAVE CONVERSATIONS AND ADDRESS THINGS THAT ARE OF CONCERN WITH THEM.

WHAT I REALLY APPRECIATE ABOUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION IS THE TRAINING THAT WILL COME WITH IT. THEY ARE IN THE LINE WITH PBIS AND SOME OF THE WAYS WE WANT TO ADDRESS WHEN THERE COULD BE CONFLICT. I KNOW THERE ARE STILL CONCERNS AND I APPRECIATE CSEA WORKING WITH US WHILE THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO GET IT THROUGH THIS IS US TAKING THE NEXT STEP OF WHERE OUR SCHOOLS AND WHERE WE NEED TO HEAD IN LIGHT OF THE ENVIRONMENT OF WHAT IS SURROUNDING US IN THE UNIVERSE AND SOCIETY.

AND I THINK OUR CLIMATE AND SAFETY LIAISONS NEED TO BE VISIBLE AND NEED TO BE APPROPRIATELY TRAINED SO I AM IN SUPPORT OF THIS NEW JOB DESCRIPTION.

WHEN YOU GET A MULTISUBJECT CREDENTIAL LIKE MYSELF, I HAVE A K-8 AND SELF-CONTAINED IN THE UPPER AND MIDDLE SCHOOL. SO, SOME WOULD SAY THAT I AM NOT QUALIFIED TO TEACH. AND THOSE EARLIER GRADES BECAUSE IT IS MUCH MORE OF A SPECIALIZATION THAT IS GROUNDED IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT.

I THOUGHT I WAS QUALIFIED TO TEACH, BUT THERE ARE SOME WHO SAY WE NEED THE SPECIALIZATION IN THIS AREA.
